Babymoon
I recently read about a new trend of vacationing called a Babymoon. As the name sounds, it means taking a relaxing vacation before the baby is born. Scott and I have decided to look into this for early 2009. Apparently resorts are now offering special packages specifically for soon-to-be moms and dads. We are looking for places to go. Let us know if you have any ideas.

How about Portland?! The weather is just perfect in the winter/spring. You know, if you love rainy, grey weather.
SO EXCITED for you guys!

So is a babymoon anything like a harvest moon?

Wow! Super-huge congrats to you and Scott!!!!
I suppose this means no traveling to PA this Christmas (or is it only women in their third trimester who can’t fly?).

only women in their third trimester (and I think it’s mostly that women don’t feel comfortable, not that they aren’t allowed. Or something. This is all still new to me).
Back on subject: we won’t be coming up for Christmas (we want to have people over for the first Christmas in our new home), but we will be up in probably January.

We did that, although I’m only now learning that it has a name and is a trend. But the idea was the same: let’s go do something fun that we won’t be able to do before Ruthie is born. We actually had a shortlist of things, and a mini-vacation was on it. We spent an extended weekend in Shenandoah, and it was almost exactly a year ago, so the weather and foliage were perfect. We camped, hiked, slaughtered a bear, the works. It was wonderful, and just what we needed.

Sounds perfect! I’d do the same thing; I’m always looking for an excuse to go on vacation!
