A Security Toothbrush?

Throughout the weening process I have tried to incorporate some type of security blanket/stuffed animal/toy to help Lucas transition from nursing as a comfort to comforting himself with some type of a companion.  Well I think he has chosen his own object as a means of security, and it is a toothbrush.  Trust me, you don’t need to reread that last sentence, you did, in fact, read a toothbrush.

A few months ago we started brushing his many teeth so that he gets the feel of it and gets into a good habit of brushing and then two weeks ago he just took that toothbrush and never let go.  Well he does enjoy throwing his toothbrush all over the house so now we have three: (1) for actually brushing his teeth (2) to hold onto and (3) as a backup just in case we are in desperate need of a nap and can not find #2.

I will be interested to see if this security toothbrush outlasts this round of teething or if it is much more of a teething comfort.  Either way, it works right now and that is what is important.
